<\/p>\nSuffolk FA and BSC Multicultural Services (BSCMS) have been
\nshortlisted for a national award by the English FA.<\/p>\n
The two organisations have been working together for many years
\nnow. This has culminated in their joint Playmaker Course (face to
\nface), which is one of four finalists in the Coach Development
\ncategory for 2023.<\/p>\n
The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony at Wembley
\nStadium on Thursday, November 23 rd . Staff and Trustees from both
\norganisations will be attending the ceremony.<\/p>\n
A record 242 submissions were received across 12 categories from
\nthe 50 County FAs operating across England, highlighting continuous
\nimprovements and showcasing how they are innovating to improve
\ngrassroots football and increase participation across all levels of the
\ngame.<\/p>\n
The FA Playmaker Course is a free entry-level football course aimed
\nat anyone taking a more active role in grassroots football but is only
\navailable online.<\/p>\n
Suffolk FA & BSC Multicultural Services worked together to plan and
\ndeliver a Just Play sessions on Sundays in Ipswich. Based on positive
\nfeedback from participants, the first ever face to face Playmaker
\nCourse was then planned and delivered, which was a national pilot
\nprogramme.<\/p>\n
Nimesh Patel, FA Regional Coach Development Officer (D&I),
\ndelivered the course at Goals in Ipswich. Suffolk FA Football
\nDevelopment Officer, Kirsty Smith, worked closely with Mohammed
\nAlam of BSCMS, with input from Ruth Ward of Suffolk FA.<\/p>\n
Kirsty said: \u201cWe are delighted to have been nominated for a National
\nCFA award. Over the last few years, the relationship between SFA &
\nBSCMS has grown significantly and it\u2019s great to see all the hard work
\nput in by everyone has been recognised.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mohammed Alam said: \u201cThis was an important project for us and we
\nare looking at continuing this work, whilst also discussing new ideas<\/p>\n
with Suffolk FA about how else we can use football to have a positive
\nimpact on people\u2019s lives and upskill people from under-represented
\nbackgrounds and communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Suffolk FA Chief Executive, Richard Neal, said: \u201cBy being able to
\ndeliver this course face-to-face, in partnership with the brilliant BSC
\nMulticultural Services, we have been able to reach people who
\nwould otherwise not have been able to take the course, and in turn
\npass on their learnings to others. I\u2019m proud of the work already
\nundertaken with this project, and hope it will open up more
\nopportunities for others in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
FA\u2019s Head of Operations for Grassroots Football, Tim Foster, added:
\n\u201cI\u2019d like to congratulate Suffolk FA and BSCMS in making the final
\nshortlist for the Coach Development and all of the other shortlisted
\nCounty FAs in what has been a record-breaking number of
\nsubmissions this year. \u201c<\/p>\n
Boshor Ali, Chair of BSCMS, added: \u201cWe are delighted to have been
\nshortlisted for this prestigious award and we look forward to visiting
\nWembley Stadium in November for the award ceremony. I want to
\nthank everyone involved with BSCMS and Suffolk FA on their
\nachievement.\u201d<\/p>\n
